From Panamá City

  • Domestic Flight (Most Affordable): Fly into Tocumen International Airport (PTY), then transfer by car, official airport taxi, or Uber to Albrook Marcos A. Gelabert International Airport (PAC).
  • From Albrook (PAC), take a short flight to Bocas del Toro Isla Colón International Airport (BOC) with AirPanama or Fly Trip.
  • Flight time: about 50 minutes; cost is around $150 per person + tax (one way).
  • Important: The drive between PTY and PAC can take 40–60+ minutes depending on traffic. Please arrive at PAC at least 1 hour before your flight.

From Costa Rica

  • Sansa Air flights from San José (SJO) to Bocas del Toro on Tue/Thu/Sun.
  • Caribe Shuttle service from San José or Puerto Viejo direct to Almirante harbor.

  • Private driver in 4x4 with transfer from Tierra Oscura dock.
  • Public buses via Rambala and community taxi to Tierra Oscura.

  • Dinner: 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm - 3-course prix fixe menu in an intimate, tranquil setting. Food is sourced locally when possible. We grow as much of our fruit and vegetables as possible and we catch our fish ourselves. Our staff catches lobster, crabs, conch, and octopus when possible.
  • Blå Bar: Open to hotel guests 8:00 am–9:30 pm daily with no breaks. Non-guests by reservation only, with fixed time slots. Offers all-day snacks and cocktails.
  • We always vary what we serve based on our own harvest. Menus are created weekly with our gardener, basing the menu on the week's harvest.
  • Yes, most dishes can be made vegetarian.
  • We have a number of dishes that are vegan.
  • We can cater to gluten-free dietary choices. Being remote, we cannot guarantee 100% gluten-free environment. When a guest notifies us of gluten sensitivities, our chef contacts the guest to find out severity and options.
  • We do bake our own gluten-free breads for guests and are able to accommodate most sensitivities.
  • Guests with Celiac disease should consult with their doctor to determine if our precautions are enough.
  • We practice allergy awareness and to the furthest possible extent work with clients on a menu that caters to their allergies.
  • We are a peanut-free kitchen.
  • 48-hour advance notice required for dietary accommodations.
